Moving Pets to Singapore: A Complete Guide | PetRelocation
Transporting pets to Brunei is possible with knowledge of the requirements and careful planning. In summary, pets should have a microchip (recommended), a rabies vaccination and certificate, a vet health certificate, and government endorsements of the relevant forms.
An import permit is also required for pet transport to Brunei, so factor this step into your timeline as you start to plan your move logistics. Bringing pets to Brunei can be made easier with the help of experts, and many pet owners who are moving work or simply short on time do decide to hire assistance.
Finally, note that pets coming from non-approved countries are required to spend up to 180 days in Brunei’s quarantine facility upon arrival. Depending on the discretion of the Brunei Veterinary Authority this time may be shortened, so be sure to discuss your possible options with your PetRelocation Specialist.
Attention: This information is to be used as general guidelines and may not be updated to meet the current requirements. Before you travel, be sure to contact the appropriate authorities for your destination country.
Microchip
Though not required, a microchip is recommended for all traveling pets.
Rabies Vaccination and Certificate
All pets over three months of age must have an original Rabies Certificate. The rabies vaccination must occur at least 60 days prior to departure and within 360 days of departure.

This is the standard Health Certificate to be filled out by your accredited veterinarian, and it must be issued within 10 days of the flight.
Document Endorsements
The following must be sent to your local government veterinarian for their stamp of approval (for US exports, this is the USDA).
Import Permit
An import permit is required for dogs, cats, and birds entering Brunei. This can be obtained by contacting the Ministry of Agriculture or your PetRelocation Specialist will obtain this on your behalf.
Quarantine
All pets arriving into Brunei must be quarantined for 180 days unless they originate in one of the following countries: Australia, Ireland, New Zealand, Sabah, Sarawak, Singapore and the United Kingdom.
Note: Some exceptions to this rule may exist. Please discuss your options with your PetRelocation Specialist.
