What to Expect When Moving With Pets: Kirei’s Story

Cat mom Jessica had enough on her plate while planning her family's move to Australia. Just like everyone else, she wasn't expecting the extreme effects of COVID-19 and the toll it would take on her months of planning. Luckily, she had PetRelocation on her side to safely move her kitty, Kirei. Here's their story! 

Relocating to Australia in the middle of a pandemic while pregnant was not part of our initial plans. Moving my precious kitty to a country known for the most stringent arrival requirements was definitely an added stressor. From the first emails I received from PetRelocation, followed by Nina’s takeover of my move, I felt confident that I found the best people to help me through this process.

Nina was in touch with me regularly, providing updates on the flight routes and potential changes. She had great connections with airlines and agents, which enabled us to get answers quickly. When flights taking pets to Australia were canceled (and the alternative was leaving my kitty in the US for months of uncertainty), she was able to find an alternate route for my cat to arrive within a week of my arrival in Australia. When Melbourne closed its borders due to a spike in COVID-19 cases, she was still providing updates, despite the time difference, to reassure me of my kitty’s impending arrival.

Every step of the way, PetRelocation was making sure I knew what was going to happen and that I had all the information I needed. I especially appreciated her honesty about potential risks due to the flight uncertainties and also her willingness to jump on a call whenever I had concerns about anything.

I hope to never have to move my kitty in such a situation ever again, but if I have to, I will 100% go with PetRelocation and would recommend anyone else to do the same!
