Pet Move of the Month: Mopy & Zucarin’s Move to Australia
Incredible Experiences: A Happy Dog Reunion in Australia
"Mopy and Zucarin are part of the family, so when we decided to move from Mexico to Australia the first concern was how to relocate them." This probably sounds like a pretty normal way of thinking to most pet owners, and it's certainly understandable to all of us here at PetRelocation.
Well, we were happy to help keep the whole family together. Read on to find out how the owners of these two well-loved dogs moved forward with their move, enlisted our help, and ended up as our November Pet Move of the Month!
Is this the first time you’ve ever moved your pets?
Yes, this is the first (and hopefully last) time we'll move the whole family.
What were some of your concerns going into the move?
Our dogs are old, so we were afraid of something going wrong. They live inside the house and all day long they are with some member of the family, so the separation was also something to take in account.
Did anything surprise you about the international pet moving process?
When we started to read about moving pets to Australia, we saw a lot about how long it takes for the pets to be accepted and all the paperwork that we would need to complete. In the end, with the help of PetRelocation, everything was very smooth.
How are your dogs adjusting to the new location?
Now in their new location they are more quiet, and also due to the high quality food that they ate at the quarantine station, their hair is in very good condition. Zucarin, for example, usually has some dry skin problems, but now those problems are gone!
What is life like in Australia? Is it a pet-friendly place to be?
We have only been here for a few weeks, but it seems that most dogs behave very well and I think all of them are trained. There are many leash-free parks around, but we will need to educate our dogs first before going there. Mopy and Zucarin are not trained, so we're not sure what would happen with a pair of happy and crazy dogs from Mexico 😊
What advice do you have for people who might be planning a move?
Talk with someone like PetRelocation, they know all about moving pets, and that's something to be taken into account when, apart from the pets, you need to deal with other things -- like moving to another country with a big family like us. At the beginning, bringing Mopy and Zucarin sounded impossible, but PetRelocation made things very easy.
