Make sure your pet meets these basic requirements so you can begin the import process.
The timeline for travel starts with your pet's first rabies vaccine.
Any veterinarian may administer the rabies vaccines, but the titer blood draw must be performed by a USDA accredited veterinarian.
Once your pet's blood test is completed, the documentation process begins!
If you follow our guidelines, your pet should be able to complete their quarantine in your home.
Guam adheres to strict rules as to which airlines live animals can arrive on.
Does your pet have records in multiple locations? Is your veterinarian properly accredited? Are all required vaccinations in line with import and export regulations? There is a lot to consider. We’ve got you covered!
Guam requires multiple vaccines and a blood test, which typically results in 3-4 vet visits, all of which we will manage. Our team also provides sample documents to help ensure everything is properly filled out and signed the first time. Our relocation coordinators manage an average of 190 vet visits per month and stay current on regulatory changes so you and your vet don’t have to.
All pets entering Guam must have a microchip, two rabies vaccines, a passing TITER test, and other vaccinations and treatments. Read more below for specific details and requirements.

To avoid a stay in commercial quarantine in Guam, make sure your pet has their vaccine and blood test done at the correct time. Our team of experts will ensure that all required steps are taken properly to prevent delays or issues with your pet's transportation to Guam.
OIE-FAVN Rabies Blood Test
Your veterinarian must issue two signed rabies vaccine certificates and submit the blood draw for the rabies titer test to an approved lab. The timing of these documents is crucial. Our team will work closely with your veterinarian to ensure all paperwork is submitted on time and with accuracy, so you can have peace of mind that your pet will be cleared to enter Guam without any issues.
Once you have your test results back, you'll need to make an appointment with a USDA accredited veterinarian within 10 days of your planned travel date.
Obtaining An Entry Permit
Upon arrival in Guam, your pets must have an entry permit to avoid commercial quarantine. To obtain this permit, you must submit an original signature or carbon copies of rabies vaccination certificates for the two most recent rabies vaccinations with an application for an entry permit to the Department of Agriculture. Certificates must contain the following:
The Department of Agriculture recommends sending documents 2-3 months before arrival to ensure enough time for review. Also, remember that all original documents will need to travel with your pet to Guam, so you must allow time to return the documents.
Fee payments are accepted by cashier’s check or money order only (pet’s microchip number must be included with payment), payable to: “Treasurer of Guam.”
Documents must be sent to:
Department of Agriculture
Animal Health Section
163 Dairy Road
Mangilao, Guam 96913
or
guamagriculture@gmail[dot]com
Do not send each document separately. Send all documents in as a set.
Final Veterinary Appointment
An original health certificate, done within 10 days of arrival in Guam, must travel with our pet. This should include the microchip number and the date of implantation, the name of the rabies vaccination, the lot or serial number, the expiration date of the lot, and the date the rabies was given.
Pets must be treated for ticks with a Fipronil product or an equivalent, long-acting product (Revolution is unacceptable) within 14 days of arrival. The product name and treatment date should be recorded on the health certificate.
If your pet does not meet the above requirements upon entry to Guam, they must complete 120 days in a state quarantine facility.
Home Quarantine for Pets in Guam
Home quarantine for 120 days upon arrival is allowed for pets from the United States or an overseas United States military installation if all the above requirements are completed and the Rabies FAVN blood test result is at least 1.0 IU/m.
If your pets cannot meet these requirements and pets that arrive without a valid entry permit will be subject to substantial fines and full 120-day commercial quarantine.
There are limited options for flying pets to Guam from the United States, which leaves some breeds even fewer options.
