Dear PetRelocation,
I am planning to move with my dogs from England to Arizona in mid-September. My dogs have passports and they have recently been vaccinated against rabies. I am planning to have then tested for tapeworm before flying.
I would appreciate any advice you could give on any other medical preparation needed or any suggestions for the most animal-friendly airlines.
Warm Regards,
Natalie
Hi Natalie,
Thank you for your inquiry! Traveling with pets to the United States is a pretty straightforward process and we'd be happy to provide an overview of what to expect.
Here's a quick list of steps to take:
Look over these essential pet travel tips to find out about crate training, pet friendly airlines and more.
Review the pet import requirements for the United States carefully to see exactly what the health requirements are (it sounds like you're in good shape so far).
Contact us if you're interested in enlisting the help of a pet travel expert.
Specifically, we often use United and British Airways for pets traveling between the United States and the United Kingdom due to their pet safe policies, and you'll want to double check with the airline you choose to make sure you're in line with their procedures.
Hope this helps to get you started! Good luck with everything and please let us know if we can be of further service.
