Pet-Friendly Airlines & Dog Travel to Italy

Is there a recommended airline for taking my dog from Boston, MA, USA, to Florence, Italy (one better than another)?

Great question! We do have a few select airlines that we choose to work with when moving our clients' pets -- some carriers devote more energy towards making sure pets have safe and uneventful moves.

 

Generally speaking, airlines we consider "pet-friendly" have knowledgeable employees dedicated to a pet's safety. Pets should be kept in temperature-controlled environments as much as possible. They should be loaded last and removed from the plane's cargo area (temperature and pressure controlled).

 

We typically use Lufthansa, KLM, United, and British Airways for our pet flights, and going to Italy in particular, we often use Lufthansa.
